Normally, I do not comment on state matters since I am running for Congress. However, Governor Deval Patrick will file his 2011 Fiscal Year Budget today, Wednesday January 27, 2010. We are facing a deficit of potentially billions of dollars, and the governor wants to reward people who have broken the law with in-state tuition rates at Massachusetts State Colleges. S603 and H1175 would reward illegals who have attended high school in Massachusetts for at least three years. I believe this is a slap in the face of hard working voters, and it shows how out of touch he and the elites are. We reward failure and lawbreakers. We bailout industries that we should not bail out. Yet we continue to do it at a time when we cannot afford luxuries, and continue to place the burden on the working men and women of this commonwealth and this nation.
The citizens of Massachusetts and America will not tolerate business as usual. Both political parties are working to save their risk-taking friends on Wall Street. The Democratic Party and the President are shoring up the Unions. Saving GM was mostly about the Union Pension Fund. The bondholders, shareholders, and taxpayers got stiffed. GM didn’t deserve to be saved. It gives them an unfair advantage in the marketplace. That goes against the American Principle of fair play. The government is picking winners and losers. This is gross interference in the free market. Democrats buy votes by giving away our money. This is what the governor of Massachusetts and others are trying to do. They want to give free tuition to illegal immigrants who sign an affidavit that they will seek legal permanent residence or citizenship. The taxpayer pays, and the Democrats buy future votes. Let’s tell him and his cronies how unfair it is by voting them out of office in November. It is time to remind them that the people are in charge.
